RCE Art Show

Art Show Grades K-5

Helps to benefit the Elementary art program and to celebrate the arts! Family and friends are welcome to take a gallery walk with all of the student’s art work on display!

Kandinsky Concentric Circles

Kindergarten has been learning about Wassily Kandinsky, one of the very first abstract artists. We read a story called The Noisy Paintbox about Kandinsky's childhood and his first experience with paint! We recreated one of his works "Concentric Circles." Students worked hard on cutting out small, medium and large circles and then pasting them to a painted background. I think their interpretations are beautiful!

Paper plate weaving!

3rd grade's paper plate weaving a are coming along quite nicely! I always love how these turn out and the students are really proud of themselves once their done! 

5th grade-paper mache block letters

5th grade is paper macheing block letters this week and I have run out of room!! That's okay, they look cool on the cabinets!!

MLK Day!

We are out of school Monday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.! Please think of him on this day and all of the beautiful things he helped accomplish for the people of our country!

Artsonia

Our school is participating in Artsonia, an online art gallery! I will be taking pictures of all of the student's artwork, posting them on the Artsonia website, and then parents and family members can go online and view their students work! They can also have the artwork printed on different keepsake items such as keychains, t-shirts etc.! What's also awesome is that 20% of the proceeds go to our art program here at school! I am so excited to be a part of this awesome program and to see where it takes us! Visit our school page!
