Art Schedule 2018-2019

Back to school is coming up and I am so excited! If it's your child's day for art, it's a good idea for them to dress in not so nice clothes, just in case we get a little messy. Art will be twice a week this year so I can't wait to see what art projects we can accomplish with our new time together! Welcome back to RCE!

Artwork Storage

How do you keep and store 300+ student's artwork until April? Storage boxes! I made a promise to myself that this year I was going to find a way to keep student artwork organized! To help save me a lot of head aches during art show time. Well I unpacked a whole lot of copy paper to get this box collection! Here's to a more organized year!

Aprons! Brought to you by Artsonia!

Thanks to all of your purchases made through Artsonia this year! We were able to purchase new "tiger blue" aprons for the students! The students love them, and they look fancy artists which makes them feel good! I'm looking forward to adding new student artwork to Artsonia again this year to share with families!

Welcome Back Artists!

We have new paintbrushes this year! Enjoy how pretty they are now because they won't stay this clean for long! I am so excited for a new year of art with the students! I can tell it's going to be a really great year!

Kandinsky Concentric Circles

Kindergarten has been learning about Wassily Kandinsky, one of the very first abstract artists. We read a story called The Noisy Paintbox about Kandinsky's childhood and his first experience with paint! We recreated one of his works "Concentric Circles." Students worked hard on cutting out small, medium and large circles and then pasting them to a painted background. I think their interpretations are beautiful!
